LISA ACADEMY- NORTH HOME VISIT PROGRAM

Different than regular public schools, Lisa Academy-North has home visits in its program. Lisa Academy-West has been doing home visits since it was established and we have found this program very helpful and useful.

Why do we visit homes?

Home visits are a unique opportunity for real two-way communication between home and school. They acquaint the teacher with a child's family and culture, and provide a familiar setting for listening to parents' concerns and recognizing their contributions to the home-school partnership.

By visiting students and their families at home, our teachers help building strong communication and a caring classroom. Teachers talk about student progress, programs and planning; parents provide priceless feedback and input: and students improve both academically and socially.

Home visits serve a variety of goals including:

  • Welcome new families to the school community.
  • Survey parents for their views on school policies and programs.
  • Report on student progress in school.
  • Solve specific problems.
  • Demonstrate home-learning activities to parents.
